Sometimes the nicest places are only on your door step! An impromptu Sunday trip to Leamington Spa shaped up to be the loveliest afternoon.
Joel and I were feeling a little fragile (putting it mildly) after a friend’s Halloween party the night before. So, on the agenda was fresh air, carbs and sugar…
I’ve been wanting to visit Coffee Architects for a while now, after hearing raving reviews about it on Instagram and I thought this would be the perfect place for coffee and cake. I wasn’t wrong. With it only being a quaint café, seating is limited and, because of its acclaim, the queue to get a table was trailing down the street! The atmosphere is warm, chilled and chatty with its cosy window-benches and earthy pots and plants decor.
They also have the cosiest outside seating area (heated!) which they decorate to fit the season – it’s currently boasting baby pumpkins and fairy-lights.
After dribbling over the display of cakes and treats, we were ready to dig into our rocky road cheesecake and triple lemon cake. Freshly baked and portion sizes big enough to feed an army (i.e. to feed me).
I also tried their Halloween special “gothic hot chocolate”, which is made black from charcoal! The staff couldn’t have taken better care of us and we’ve already planned to return to try their breakfast menu…
We wandered Leamington Parade, pretty aimlessly, and just enjoyed its busy streets and the prettiest shop fronts! They also had a market running down the entire Parade, with tons of market stalls, including: food stalls, homemade fudge and cookies, clothes, antiques, and a build-your-own-brownie stand.
If I wasn’t already in a food coma, this would have been ideal! The antique stalls had such an interesting range, from vintage cameras, to paintings, to jewellery – I’ll definitely be returning to buy a camera!
A night-out in Leamington is on the cards for over Christmas to indulge in more delicious food and to try some of their stylish cocktail bars!

Stay tuned for more Leamington exploring!

Everything looks so cute! I have never had a hot chocolate with charcoal before although I am currently using charcoal toothpaste – how did it taste? xx
